Cases that show environmental injustice around the world

Flint Water Crisis (United States)

In Flint, Michigan, a change in water source and treatment failures led to lead contamination in drinking water. Residents, including many children, were exposed to serious health risks. The case became a major symbol of how policy decisions can hurt communities with less political power.

Industrial Pollution in Low-Income Communities

In different countries, polluting factories, waste facilities, and heavy-traffic zones are often concentrated near low-income neighborhoods. These communities experience more air pollution, noise pollution, and health problems.
